Ranchi
In a major push to accelerate its Vision 2050 development agenda and position itself as a preferred destination for investment and technology-led growth, the Jharkhand government will organise a two-day National Stakeholders Consultation in New Delhi on July 8 and 9. The event will bring together leading policymakers, industry captains, investors, technology experts and development partners from India and abroad to chart a long-term roadmap for industrial, technological and tourism-driven development.
Organised jointly by the state’s Departments of Information Technology, Industries and Tourism under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the consultation is expected to serve as a platform for shaping future policies, attracting investments and forging strategic partnerships across key sectors.
Preparations for the event gathered momentum on Thursday when Information Technology Secretary Pooja Singhal and Industries Secretary Arava Rajkamal called on Chief Minister Hemant Soren in Ranchi and formally invited him to attend the consultation as the chief guest. Rajeev Lochan Baxi, Special Secretary, Information and Public Relations Department, was also present during the meeting.
A key highlight of the consultation will be the release of several draft policy frameworks for public and industry feedback before their finalisation. These include the Draft Jharkhand AI Policy, Draft Jharkhand Investment Promotion Policy, Draft Jharkhand Tourism Policy, Draft Jharkhand Textile Policy, Draft JIADA Regulations, Draft Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Policy and the Concept Paper on the Jharkhand Foundation, along with other proposed policy initiatives.
The government said the consultation marks an important milestone in positioning Jharkhand as a preferred investment destination in Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Governance, industrial development and tourism. It believes the initiative will help attract quality investments, promote innovation and generate employment opportunities while advancing the state’s vision of “Explore Infinite Opportunities.”
The event also builds upon the momentum generated by Jharkhand’s participation at the World Economic Forum in Davos and the subsequent official visit to the United Kingdom, aimed at expanding global partnerships and investment opportunities in line with the state’s long-term Vision 2050 objectives.
Day One: IT, AI and Digital Governance
The opening day will focus on strengthening Jharkhand’s digital economy through discussions on Digital Governance and IT Infrastructure. Senior government officials, technology experts and industry leaders will deliberate on expanding the state’s IT ecosystem, accelerating artificial intelligence adoption and enhancing digital governance and infrastructure.
The programme will also feature Business-to-Government (B2G) interactions between government representatives and companies from the IT, AI and digital technology sectors to identify collaboration opportunities.
Another major session, titled “Shaping Jharkhand’s AI Future,” will deliberate on the proposed AI policy framework and emerging opportunities in artificial intelligence. Several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed between the Information Technology Department and leading companies during the day.
Day Two: Investment, Tourism and Strategic Partnerships
The second day will shift the focus to industrial investment, inclusive development and tourism, highlighting Jharkhand’s industrial capabilities, cultural heritage and tourism potential before domestic and international investors.
A dedicated stakeholder consultation on industrial promotion and investment will examine strategies to attract new industries, strengthen the state’s manufacturing ecosystem and improve investment facilitation. The government will also sign multiple strategic MoUs with leading industrial houses to accelerate investment and economic development across Jharkhand.
In addition, several draft policy frameworks will be formally unveiled, while new digital portals designed to improve governance, ease of doing business and investor facilitation will also be launched.
Showcasing Jharkhand’s Cultural Heritage
The two-day National Stakeholders Consultation will conclude with a cultural programme celebrating Jharkhand’s rich heritage through traditional music, dance and other cultural performances. The event is expected to provide policymakers, industry leaders, investors and delegates from India and abroad an opportunity to experience the state’s unique cultural identity while fostering networking and collaboration for future partnerships.
