About

The Indian Tribal is India’s ‘first of its kind’ bilingual (English & Hindi) digital journalistic venture, dedicated exclusively to the Scheduled Tribes. The venture is the brainchild of M. Madhusudan, a journalist with over 25 years of experience across print, electronic and digital media besides the communication sector in organisations like Zee News, Hindustan Times, PTI, and The Pioneer. The ambitious initiative, under the aegis of Madtri Ventures Pvt Ltd (www.madtri.com), is a potential game-changer with tremendous social welfare and commercial value entwined with a nation-building objective.

Vision

Since an arduous, time-consuming surfing effort throws results that are way too serious with mostly academic and research papers on offer or very limited in their scope and coverage, it is our endeavour to be an informative medium to bring to you from-the-ground reports on the tribal community and its members with a never-before perspective of spotlighting their unsung achievers, lip-smacking cuisines with medicinal properties, ancient healing forms, centuries-old unique games and sports, ageless arts and crafts, timeless music and traditional musical instruments — of course, without losing sight of the ailments, shortcomings, negatives plaguing them like domestic abuse, alcoholism, malnourishment among others.

Mission

Our seasoned journalists bring to the fore unknown, lesser-known tribal life. We bring reader-engaging stories from the backyards of India’s 10.45-crore (104.5 mn) tribals for the infotainment of the masses and for the policy makers to take note of.  The initiative strives to cover Adivasis inhabiting 30 States and Union Territories with an all-new perspective. We aspire to be the go-to medium for tribal-related content. A technology-driven approach towards exponentially expanding our reach and contributing to the society is what we aim for.

End Note

Much thought, discussion and effort have gone into designing the LOGO of The Indian Tribal. It has elements of Assam’s famous ‘Japi Hat’, Nagaland’s designer ‘Stole’, Gujarat-Maharashtra’s aesthetic ‘Warli Painting’, Madhya Pradesh’s novel ‘Sundari’ musical instrument and the ubiquitous tribal feather crown. Kudos to the talented team at the Ingenious World, the logo designed by them is receiving all-round appreciation.
