Senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday alleged that there was “love jihad” and “land jihad” happening in Jharkhand under a tribal Chief Minister and this was changing the State’s demography.
Shah did not name Hemant Soren but alleged that the Jharkhand’s tribal CM was instrumental behind “Love Jihad” and “Land-Jihad” in the State due to his “vote bank and appeasement policy”, causing demographic changes.
“After forming a government in Jharkhand, we will bring out a ‘White Paper’ on demography to protect tribal people, their lands, reservation and rights,” Shah said, as he sounded the poll bugle here while addressing BJP’s booth workers.
He commended them for enabling BJP win 9 Lok Sabha seats and establishing leads in 52 Assembly constituencies which, he claimed, was an indicator that the party is going to return to power with full majority in the upcoming Assembly polls.
The Union Home Minister claimed that rampant infiltration has led to the shrinking of tribal land and tribal population in Jharkhand, where infiltrators were entering, marrying tribal women, obtaining certificates and buying land.
With BJP losing all the five ST reserved Lok Sabha seats in the recent elections and 28 ST Assembly seats at stake, Shah sought to reach out to the tribals stating that it was the BJP which first made tribal Babulal Marandi the Jharkhand Chief Minister, included Santhali language in the 8th Schedule, created OBC Commission, and granted 27 percent reservation to OBCs, who have been given the maximum representation in the Council of Ministers.
He also attacked the INDIA bloc and Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, for “showing arrogance” despite losing the Lok Sabha polls as “they are unable to accept defeat”.
“INDIA bloc and Congress leaders are showing arrogance for indulging in scams worth Rs 12 lakh crore, appeasement, dynastic politics and playing with national security. Despite getting 2/3rd majority we never had arrogance but look at Rahul Gandhi’s arrogance in Parliament. Had heard about arrogance after winning but they are arrogant event after losing,” he said.
“The BJP got more seats in this Lok Sabha election than Congress’s combined numbers in 2014, 2019, 2024 polls,” he said, adding that the JMM-led alliance was one of the most corrupt governments in the country and it was time to show it the exit door.
He further said that it was the BJP Government (under AB Vajpayee) that created Jharkhand. “The Congress gave Rs 84,000 crore to Jharkhand while we gave Rs 3,84,000 crore to the State,” he asserted.
