Ranchi/Jamshedpur
Inclement weather led to postponement of his official flagging off of 6 Vande Bharat trains from Tatanagar junction as also his roadshow in the steel city. He virtually flagged off the trains from Ranchi airport, distributed sanction letters to 32,000 beneficiaries of PM Awas Yojana-Rural and reached Jamshedpur by road to address the BJP rally.
- Seeking to connect with the Adivasis, celebrating Karma Puja, he pointed out on two occasions how “this morning, when I reached Ranchi Airport, a sister welcomed me with a ‘Jahva’, a sign of Karma festival. Sisters pray for their brothers’ well-being in this festival. I congratulate the people of Jharkhand on the Karma festival”.
- Most houses of PM Awas Yojana-Rural are in the name of my sisters and mothers. On the day of Karma Puja, sisters pray for the long life of their brothers. Today this brother of yours is blessed to be able to gift you a pucca house, Modi said.
- Attacking the INDIA bloc allies, he said, “There are three enemies of Jharkhand: JMM, RJD and Congress. The RJD still seeks revenge from Jharkhand for its formation and the Congress hates Jharkhand. Congress ruled the country from Delhi for so many decades but they did not let backwards, Adivasi and Dalits come forward. The JMM came ahead in politics using Adivasi votes. But today they are standing with those who took over the jungles of the Adivasis.”
- “There is only one most corrupt party in this country and that is Congress. There is only one most corrupt family and that is the Congress family. The JMM is also getting training from the same school and the name of that school is Congress School of Corruption,” Modi charged.
Flagging the issue of illegal infiltration in Jharkhand, which the State BJP has made its main plank in the run-up to Assembly elections, the PM said: “Infiltration is the biggest problem of Jharkhand. The parents of young daughters are worried. Two-three days ago, the Jharkhand High Court ordered an independent panel to investigate the infiltration but the JMM government is not ready to admit that there is infiltration in Jharkhand. Bangladeshi and Rohingya infiltration is a huge problem in Santhal Pargana and Kolhan. The demography of the whole region is changing rapidly.
- “The Adivasi population in Santhal Pargana is decreasing rapidly. Lands are being grabbed. Infiltrators are taking over positions in Panchayats. The incidents of crime against daughters are increasing. Every Jharkhandi is feeling unsafe because of the infiltrators. The JMM is standing with Bangladeshis and Rohingyas. These infiltrators and extremists are taking over the JMM. This has happened because the ghost of Congress has entered the JMM. When the ghost of Congress enters any party, then appeasement becomes the only agenda of that party. These parties want to form religion-based vote bank.’
- The PM shook hands with former Jharkhand CM and veteran tribal leader Champai Soren, who quit the JMM for being “insulted and humiliated”. Later, he took up his cause saying, “Was Champai Soren not an Adivasi? Did he not come from a poor family? But the way he was insulted to snatch the CM’s chair, every poor and Adivasi of Jharkhand is hurt because of it.”
- He also pointed out the example of Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s sister-in-law Sita Soren saying she too was insulted and evicted from her own family. “The people of Jharkhand will give a reply to this”.
