Maintaining that Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, and other deprived communities account for 57.14 percent of Jharkhand’s total population. The Jharkhand Economic Survey (report) 2021-22, tabled in the Vidhan Sabha on Wednesday, estimated an 8.8 percent growth in State’s real Gross State Domestic Product (GDP) in the current fiscal and 6.15 percent growth in economy next fiscal.

The Indian Tribal News in Jharkhand budge tabled on Thursday (March 3).
The Report, however, doesn’t directly comment on their current socio-economic status, on various set parameters of integrated growth. The report elaborates the ‘latest’ initiatives by the official machinery for their positive growth.
The ventures range from taking care of their basic needs in-home to giving them higher education abroad – all free of cost! And from organizing “Nadi Mahotsav” (river fests) to “Jan Van Yojna” (public afforestation weeks); from scholarships to astroturf stadium; from Kalyan gurukuls to proposed sports hostels.
To boost their economy vis-a-vis preserving their indigenous cultural heritage, the Economic Survey Report, tabled by Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon, also highlights various other initiatives being taken in recent years from as early as 2017-18 to 2020-21.
The Economic Survey details the state economy ahead of the government’s budget for the fiscal year beginning April 1, 2022. Mentions that the state has shown adequate resilience to recover promptly from every shock including economic recovery from the effects of COVID-19 pandemic.
The growth rate has decelerated during the last two years – financial years 2019-20 and 2020-21, the survey said.
However, These two years were not normal, it said, adding the Indian economy to its economic slowdown. In the year 2019-20 which did not leave even the economy of Jharkhand untouched.
Both, the Indian economy and the economy of Jharkhand recorded a growth of a mere 4 percent, the survey said. Read more about The Indian Tribal News in Jharkhand check out our website.
