A woman belonging to a primitive tribe community in Sahibganj has been killed and her body chopped into pieces allegedly by her husband.
“Twelve parts of the body of a 22-yr-old woman belonging to a primitive tribe community were found in Sahibganj. Some parts of the body are still missing & search for them is underway. Her husband Dildar Ansari has been detained by the police. The deceased was his second wife,” according to the Sahibganj Superintendent of Police.
What started the preliminary investigation was the locals noticing and informing the police about a dog eating what seemed like human remains behind a newly-constructed Anganwadi centre under Boreo Block in Sahibganj district. The probe later led to the revelation of the chilling murder.
The police in its full-fledged probe into the case found two sharp weapons from the maternal uncle of the suspect, Ansari. The police are suspecting that Ansari used a sharp object such as an electric cutter to chop the body of the woman, identified as Rubika Pahadin, into several pieces. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
The police said the mutilated body of the woman was recovered from an old house in Santhali Momin Tola area on Saturday evening at 6 pm.
Police said Rubika was the second wife of Dildar and the couple had known each other for the past two years. The recovery of the body and the investigation into the missing complaint filed by Rubika’s family led police investigations to her husband Dildar. Police said Dildar stored the dismembered pieces in a sack at his home before disposing them.
The gruesome murder in Jharkhand bears a similarity to Delhi’s Shraddha Walkar murder case, wherein the 24-year-old woman was also murdered and chopped into 35 pieces by her live-in partner Aftab Poonawalla, who then disposed them in the nearby Mehrauli forest area. DNA samples of Shraddha’s remains have matched with her father’s.
