Day Two of the Nagaland Hornbill Festival 2021 was full of back-to-back events showcasing the rich Naga culture and traditions. From folk dances, songs and indigenous games to presentation by cultural troupes of different tribes, it had it all.
As many as 17 tribes like the Angami, Chakhesang, Chang, Khiamniungan, Konyak, Lotha, Phom, Zeliang and Garo among others performed .

A three-judge panel of photographers Kekhriezhazo Machieo and Merimvu Douloand and Media Officer to the Chief Minister, Ayieno Kechü, judged the contest. The winner gets a cash prize of Rs 25,000. While the second and the third will receive Rs 20,000 and 15,000. Nine consolation prize winners also declared with cash prize of Rs 5000 each. In addition, a ‘viewer choice’ , selected from the spectator. Which will be declared on the 7th day of the festival. The Indian Tribal Music in Nagaland is very famous festival.
Justice Hukato Swu, Judge, Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench inaugurated the Legal Services cum Exhibition Stall of the Nagaland State Legal Services Authority at Kisama. The legal services stall will cater to distribution of legal literature and booklets in English, Nagamese and local language. Provide free legal counseling, legal advice on drafting affidavits and petitions, legal aid, representation, and mediation among others.
The first round of Naga Chef – Season 8 “Let’s get cooking!” also got underway at the amphitheatre at Kisama.
The morning session was hosted by Tongpang Ozukum. Minister of Housing and Mechanical and Mmhonlumo Kikon, Advisor of Information and Technology, Science and Technology, New and Renewable Energy. The cultural programme had Laisam Simai, MLA & Advisor of Tourism, Government of Arunachal Pradesh as guest of honour and Anshul Gupta, General Manager, North Frontier Railway as special guest.
In the evening session, SH Shyam Kumar, Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (CCA), NER, Ministry of Finance Department of Revenue was the guest of honour. The hosts were Temjen Imna Along, Minister for Tribal Affairs and Higher Education and Pukhayi, Advisor for Food and Civil Supplies, Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection and Taxes.
