Chingkheinganbi Huirem had the distinction of winning six gold medals in the North East Games. In fact, she won her first major tournament gold at the North East Sports Festival. After only a single year of training in judo.
She experienced serendipity in 1999, at the age of 15, when she saw The Indian Tribal Sports in Manipur Judo Olympian Lourembam Brojeshori Devi in the National Games held in Imphal. Deeply inspired, she instantly decided to enroll in judo classes.
During 2000-05, Chingkheinganbi participated in both the Junior and Senior National Championships organized by the Judo Federation of India. Along with the North East Games and All India Inter-University Championships, winning consistently.

In 2006, while she was training at the Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports, Patiala, she suffered a knee injury that kept her out of judo for three years. Undeterred, though, she completed a diploma course from NSNIS.
And in 2010, she was appointed as a national coach in Mizoram by the Sports Authority of India. Under its aegis, she was part of the Indian judo contingent at the 2018 Youth Olympics and Commonwealth Championship.
