Three tribal man arrested after a shocking video of them allegedly sexually harassing a young tribal girl. In full public view in Alirajpur district of Madhya Pradesh did round on social media. Two more people detained for filming this incident and posting videos on social media, police said.
Police said arrested three to four more persons also involved in harassing women and instigating other accused.
“We have detained the man who made the video and another one who made it viral. Besides, we have arrested three accused seen misbehaving with women,” Alirajpur Superintendent of Police Manoj Singh said adding the arrested accused and the detained men are all tribals.
However, the video showed a crowd wherein some men, who appeared to be in their 20s, pushed and hugged a woman walking on a street and tried to kiss her forcibly amid shouting by other men. Onlookers could see recording the disturbing act on their mobile cameras.
At least, two men involved in the act wearing saffron towels. The police, however, denied that the “molesters” were politically affiliated.
The SP said the trio booked under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with an intent to outrage her modesty) and 345-A (sexual harassment) and 34 (criminal acts done by several persons with common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.
