Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday apologised to the 36-year-old tribal man Dashmat Ravat, who was urinated upon by one Pravesh Shukla and a video of which went viral. Chouhan also washed Ravat’s feet as a mark of respect and atonement.
“I was pained to see that video,” the Chief Minister said, referring to the viral video in which Pravesh Shukla was seen urinating on Ravat. “I apologise to you. People are like a God to me,” Chouhan told the tribal from Karaundi. Chouhan shared photos and video.

Calling him as “Sudama”, Chouhan said, “You are now my friend.” Chouhan also discussed various issues with him on the occasion, especially to know whether benefits of different welfare schemes were reaching him.
Earlier, the CM and the tribal man together planted a sapling at the Smart City Park in Bhopal.
The Madhya Pradesh Police on Tuesday arrested the main accused, Pravesh Shukla, after a video that showed him urinating on Rawat went viral on social media, and slapped the National Security Act (NSA) on him. On Wednesday, MP authorities demolished a part of Shukla’s residence.
The incident had also triggered a political row.
