Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday launched the Adi Seva Parv in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, calling the initiative a symbol of tribal pride and the spirit of nation-building.
Addressing a large public gathering, the Prime Minister said the campaign, under Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan, will “directly connect the tribal communities of Madhya Pradesh, including those in Dhar, with various government schemes. It will act as a bridge that ensures no tribal family is left behind”.
Launched as a festival of service, Adi Seva Parv will roll out a range of activities in tribal regions, focusing on health, education, nutrition, skill development, livelihood enhancement, sanitation, water conservation and environmental protection.
A key element of the programme is the preparation of Tribal Village Action Plans and a Tribal Village Vision 2030, long-term roadmaps that the Prime Minister said will ready tribal villages to become engines of growth for the next generation. “These plans will not just address present challenges but will also prepare tribal villages to become growth engines for the next generation,” he said, underlining that tribal development was a core national priority. “Those who have been left behind are our top priority,” Modi added, stressing the campaign’s aim of inclusive governance.
As Adi Seva Parv rolls out across Madhya Pradesh, the government says central and state agencies, NGOs and local bodies will coordinate to bring services directly to tribal households. The Prime Minister framed the initiative as more than a set of schemes: a concerted push to ensure tribal communities are not just beneficiaries but active partners in India’s development journey.

Paying homage at the start of his speech to the Goddess of Knowledge Vagdevi, the revered mother of Dhar Bhojshala and offering salutations on Vishwakarma Jayanti to craftsmen and artisans, the Prime Minister tied the launch to India’s cultural and productive traditions. He said initiatives such as the PM MITRA Park in Dhar would complement tribal uplift by generating jobs and strengthening local industry: “Farmers will receive fair value for their produce and a large number of youth will gain employment opportunities.”
On sickle cell anaemia, Modi highlighted the national mission launched from Madhya Pradesh in 2023 and announced distribution of the one-croreth Sickle Cell Screening and Counselling Card in the state. “Today, the one croreth screening card has been distributed in Madhya Pradesh and under this campaign more than five crore individuals have been screened across the country,” he said, urging tribal mothers to get screened. Tribals are the most-affected by the fatal disease.
