President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday exhorted the youth to wholeheartedly work for the inclusive growth of tribals. She also advised them to take lessons from the traditional lifestyle of the tribals so as to effectively fight the challenges of global warming.
Presiding over the third convocation ceremony of the Central University of Jharkhand, President Droupadi Murmu stressed that giving due attention to weaker and deprived sections of society was just like physically or mentally weaker children being given special care in a family. Why are certain sections of our society still lagging behind in the race of positive growth, she asked.
“I feel nostalgic after coming to Jharkhand (Droupadi Murmu was the Jharkhand Governor before becoming the President), They (tribals) have a rich traditional knowledge bank. Learn from their traditional life tyle and work out effective ways and means to fight out the challenges of global warming. Make them partners of inclusive growth,” she stressed.
She went on adding that the youths make up for 55 percent of the country’s total population. Our country also aims at becoming world’s third biggest economic power and fully literate in the next two decades, she said, adding, hence, we ought to shoulder greater responsibilities by way of facilitating equanimity and decent life for all. “And, youths have greater roles to play,” she maintained.
