The festival — ‘Aadi Shaurya – Parv Parakram Ka’ — organised by the Ministries of Tribal Affairs and Defence got off to an impressive start on Monday at the Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium here.
Hair-raising stunts by the armed forces personnel and enchanting performances by several tribal groups topped by Bollywood-fame Kailash Kher enthralling the audience with his mesmerizing numbers marked the opening of India’s first-ever Military Tattoo and Tribal Dance Festival. A military tattoo is a performance of music or display of armed forces.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla inaugurated the event in the presence of Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda and Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt.
The two-day festival showcases the prowess of the armed forces and the ethnic beauty of the country’s tribal culture. The objective is to celebrate together the bravery of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, embrace the true spirit of India, and renew the commitment to building a strong and prosperous ‘New India’, officials maintained.
The two-festival showcased the incredible skills, discipline and dare-devilry of the armed forces personnel who entertained the audience with their gravity-defying stunts.
